Recently, Qingdao Public Health Clinical Center launched Shandong Province’s first “Joint Outpatient Clinic of Clinical & Public Health Physicians” and a clinic specializing in neck, shoulder, waist, and leg pain. Through a multidisciplinary collaboration model, these services bring convenient medical care to residents of the Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
In recent years, Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone has actively responded to public concerns and accelerated the development of medical infrastructure. Today, medical facilities in the area are increasingly well-equipped, forming a multi-level and diversified healthcare service system. Residents can now enjoy high-quality, efficient, and convenient medical services close to home.
Qingdao Public Health Clinical Center (Qingdao Branch of Shandong Provincial Public Health Clinical Center) is one of three major provincial-level public health clinical treatment centers in Shandong. It is a municipal tertiary public hospital integrating clinical treatment, education, research, prevention, and health care. It comprises two campuses—Shibei and High-tech—with the High-tech campus set to begin trial operations on November 20, 2024.
The High-tech campus covers approximately 160,000 square meters and includes a general diagnostic area and a respiratory disease treatment area, offering 1,000 beds. Once operational, the center will significantly upgrade its hardware environment, advancing its focus on “digestive,” “respiratory,” and “infectious” specializations. It aims to establish a new development model characterized by “specialized disciplines and strong comprehensive services,” forming a dual-center strategy.
Founded in 1958, Qingdao Mental Health Center was accredited as a top-grade (3A) psychiatric hospital in 2014. Its High-tech campus began trial operations on November 8, 2024, marking the start of a “one center, two campuses” development model.
The High-tech campus focuses on psychiatric medical services, rehabilitation, prevention, teaching, and research. With a construction area of 143,000 square meters and 1,042 beds, the center’s psychiatry department is a provincial-level key clinical specialty. Its “psychology and mental health” program is a provincial public health specialty, while several disciplines are recognized at the municipal level, including geriatric psychiatry, clinical psychology, and the treatment of major mental illnesses. Additional key specialties include mood disorders, child and adolescent psychiatry, women’s psychiatry, emotional disorders, sleep medicine, psychosomatic medicine, and addiction medicine.
Established in December 2014, the Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone Community Health Service Center is a non-profit institution designated for medical insurance services. It supports outpatient pooling, treatment of chronic and special diseases, and home care services, offering essential public health services such as health check-ups for children aged 0–6, free check-ups for seniors over 65, and prenatal registration. The center spans 1,421 square meters and serves six communities: Guangbo Road, Guangsheng Road, Chonghe Road, Tongshun Road, Baoyuan Road, and Taixiang Road.
The Baoyuan Road Community Health Service Center was established in May 2022 as a non-profit and insurance-designated institution. It aims to provide full-cycle basic medical and public health services to citizens and employees in the High-tech Zone. The center occupies 2,250 square meters and serves the communities of Fengyuan Road, Huaguan Road, Fengpei Road, and Fengqing Road.
Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone continues to enhance its healthcare service system, making high-quality medical resources accessible and safeguarding residents’ well-being. These efforts also contribute solid support for building a city that is livable, entrepreneurial, and innovative.
